Our Story

Founded by passionate youth from Mtwapa, the Mtwapa Maweni Turtle Conservation Project began with a simple but powerful idea: that our coastal heritage must be protected not just for turtles, but for our people and future generations. What started as small beach patrols and awareness campaigns has grown into a recognized community movement engaging dozens of volunteers and community partners.

We are proud to be a youth-led organization that brings together locals from all walks of life: fishermen, students, mothers, and community leaders, to protect our beaches, seas, and biodiversity.
